Celebrities Pushing Vintage Tech: Top 10 Commercials from the 80s feat. Stars

Back in the 80s, we didn't entirely understand certain technologies as we do today (read: computers, polaroid, video games) so we needed a little friendly nudge from our celebrity friends to get us down to circuit city and do our jobs as consumers. Below are the ten best celeb appearances in vintage tech commercials (Commodore...whoa). Mashup your own vids using Searchles TV or the Remash video editor. Online video...toot toot, beep beep.

1. Atari commercial feat. Kareem Abdul Jabar (1978). A real David and Goliath story.

2. Compaq ad feat. John Cleese "I Wouldn't Watch This Commercial" (mid-80s). Sadly only aired in the UK.

3. IBM commercial feat. Cast of M*A*S*H (1989)

4. Commodore Amiga ad feat. Tommy Lasorda, the Pointer Sisters and Tip O'Neil (1986).
Not even The Pointer Sisters could save Commodore, and vice versa.

5. Windows 1.0 ad feat. Steve Ballmer (1985). WOW...the enthusiasm.

6. Apple Lisa ad feat. Kevin Costner (1983).
The computer makes him look nervous.

7. Polaroid commercial feat. Mariette Hartley and James Garner (1981)

8. Sony Betamax commercial feat. fake Albert Einstein (1980). Yeah, fake. Eh...why not?

9. Atari XL Atari Writer ad feat. Alan Alda (1984).
Alan Alda loooooved him some tech.

10. Kodak commercial feat. Michael Landon (1981). Michael Landon just screams Christmas.
