Top 9 Dancing Hippies Caught on Film (potentially by hippies themselves)

Dancing Hippies...while seemingly harmless at first, can suck your gaze in like none other. They're just so flowy, so rhythm-lacking, so existential, sometimes involving hula hoops. But they can't help themselves - the music and potential hallucinogenics have just taken control of them - just as they have taken control of your holy-crap-will-you-get-a-load-of-this-guy reflex. The top 9 dancing hippies on youtube, and possibly the world, are found here. Should you desire to make your own Searchles mashup, well then by all means...do go here.

1. Fat Stoned Hippie Dancing.
Where he is: Golden Gate Park...yeah, San Francisco.
Where he was in 1969: Listening to Ravi Shankar (alone) on a beanbag in his parent's basement in Florham Park, New Jersey.
Why he's special: His transition from the slow existential arm movements and poses to the spastic flailing of the legs is seamless...flawless...beautiful.

2. Hippies Dancing in a Circle
Where they are: Oh, San Francisco.
Where they were in 1969: Fetuses (feti?)...probably in suburban New Jersey.
Why they're special: These dudes so think they're gonna get laid later, probably by the chick in the green pants...always the green pants.

3. Stoned Hippie Crazy Dance
Where he is: Amidst a sea of hula hoops.
Where he was in 1969: Hopefully wearing shirts with sleeves, but probably not.
Why he's special: Because it looks like he was able to throw "stir the pot" into this beautiful dancing fusion. Not everyone can pull that maneuver off.

4. Dance Like No One's Watching
Where he is: Probably within 10 ft of a strong row of port-o-pottys. Most likely somewhere in Virginia.
Where he was in 1969: Altamont, tweaking out after a confrontation with a Hell's Angel.
Why he's special: High kicks, flexibility.

5. Amish Hippie Dancing-Go-Round
Where they are: An apple-butter festival?
Where they were in 1969: Still wearing skirts from 1869.
Why they're special: There are little hippies in training, and the camera-person is clearly finds their circular movements endearing.

6. Santa Cruz Hippie Dance
Where they are: HmmmmmSantaCruz
Where they were in 1969: Wearing flowers in their hair.
Why they're special: Jerry Garcia reincarnated is dancing with them. Unless he coined this look before Jerry Garcia, which is always a possibility.

7. USC Hippie Dancing
Where he is: USC Campus
Where he was in 1969: Shirtless.
Why he's special: A bum knee isn't going to stop him.

8. Bonnaroo Hippie Dancing
Where they are: Bonnaroo, Music Festival in Tennessee every June.
Where they were in 1969: They sure as hell wish they were around in 1969.
Why they're special: I mean this isn't really even hippie dancing - this is more 'white people dancing'. Sounds like Death Cab or something is playing...reeeeal alternative.

9. Final Hippie Dancing Video of the Day
Where he is: This looks like it could be on a high school football field.
Where he was in 1969: On a bad trip...for the whole year.
Why he's special: Sheer repetitiveness.

I really don't see why is it so funny or dumb about this... they're just having a good time dancing to some tunes, not caring about what others think, i guess "modern people" don't get it if it's not some reggaeton, or something about bitches, money and drugs, dumb people are the ones holding themselves because it can be embarrassing, dumb people criticize and feel that superiority for nothing, it is racism at a different point, but still racism

i agree..
there expressing themselves through dancing, living life and having a good time.
i wish i was there looks like fun!
just cus people express themselves in different ways doesn't mean we should put them down for it, infact we should praise them, there doin some radical hippy dances!

Hey guys - not trying to offend! There were a lot of videos on youtube of people dancing (the weird thing about youtube) so I just picked out the ones that made me smile - I mean they're kind of silly to watch out of context. I love going to those kinds o'festivals and I love the dancing. I've been known to dance like a fool myself. Anywho, you guys have a point... sorry bout that.

Seems like they are having alot of fun...maybe these people filming should try putting the cameras down and enjoy themselves next time instead of being complete douchebags about it.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The people filming are too afraid of what others might think to join in, but I would love to join! Here in Austin we have the Austin City Limits music festival which is 3 days long and you see a lot of this, but it's so much fun! I think dance is one of the best and most interesting parts of being human, in that everyone regardless of race, religion, age, sex, etc, dances. It's one common thing shared by all humanity.

Many religions forbid dancing.

Religion and Hippie shouldn't really even be in the same sentence, let alone. The same conversation. Don't know what your point was with that, but on a higher note. The videos weren't funny. Although, what WOULD be funny, would be if someone commented this saying "That's my dad". God. Sheer freaking humor, right there my friends. Stop your bickering. Who honestly takes youtube that seriously? :) learn to live.
